1Ane Brun - Headphone Silence (Henrik Schwarz Remixes) - Objektivity 12"
Unique, interesting lyrical style over catchy melodies with almost progressive sounds and highly addictive deep funky house beats(dixon version). Slightly more bumpin for the second remix, keyboard is more predominant with less emphasis on the vocal, yet showcasing its simple interesting style at the same time letting the more funky soulful vibe come though(dz noisy version)
2Mood II Swing - Closer (Fred Everything & Olivier Desmet Remix) - Amenti 12"
Original came out in 1994, this is the reissue for 2008 updated and remastered, it's a dancefloor filler of saxy smooth classic 90's house, every funky dj should invest in this hot wax, which has seen plays from the usual suspects including Farnia.
3Digitalism - Jupiter Room(martian assault mix) - Kitsune 12"
Came out in 2006 and hasn't lost any of it's original edginess over the past two years, still as relevant as when it came out, this remix is electro madness, a lil ditty that starts off funky then gets in your face, showing why Digitalism made it so big.
4Marcus Kaes, Remixes By Dapayk, Groove Rebels, Erdbeerschnitzel - Roboto - Alles Kaese Schallplatten 12" Tech house at its very very best, funky and doesn't take its self too serious, bumpin and fun with unique sounds and groovin rythem, all around great bass line. All mixes take a different stance but retain that excellent fun funky vibe while keeping the minimalists interested.
5Cirez D - Stockholm Marathon / The Journey - Mouseville 12"
Techno flavored electro house from the man Cirez, progressive yet techy, pulsating Stockholm Marathon delivers a right perfect peak hour, lets get down to business track, with a great synth in the melody that drags it along. Second track The Journey brings more commercial sensibility that we have come to know an love from him, has a great build in the start of the track, it retains an electro vibe, it's techy and funky with a somewhat progressive and techno feeling as well, repetitive vocal is utilized to excellent ends, with nice high pitched sounds for added interest.
6Jimpster, Remixes By Joris Voorn, Audiomontage - Dangly Panther - Freerange 12"
Simply brilliant original, the very best deep house, great use of timing, elements and funky flavor, released earlier this year. Remixes by Voorn, a slightly less deep more funky tech house slant with an incredible build that should be heard, taking the original and getting it ready for the club, with progressive melody loveliness and Audiomontage with a slightly less emphasised bass line and straight forward micro progressive tech in the melody and hook, sexy tune, any of the mixes would be an excellent addition to a more mellowed out house set.
7Let's Go Out, Remixes By Massi DL, Ivan Smagghe & Tim Paris - I'll Lick Your Spine - Remixes - Soma 12" If you like your electro sounding like tech house this number is for you the Massi DL mixes are quite nice, more serious than the title indicates, its moody progressive kinda dark but funky, and the vocal is a whisper. Second mix is micro tech house with a nice blend of the vocal and a ticking along rhythm. Tim Paris does a nice remix with a deep grooving tech vibe, mellow warmer track with a less serious side.
8Bob Marley, Remix By Dread Poet - Could This Be Love - Poet 12" Jacking funky electro tech house with a classic Marley vocal, keeping everything excellent about the original and making a perfect summer dance floor filler. Second side is a rip roaring bassline fest, cutting and techy with an almost dance punk feel, yet retaining its funkiness, think Switch style remix, would do well for those faced with a summer patio set at peak hour.
9MGMT, Remixes By Markus Krieger - Time To Pretend - White 12" I love MGMT, they have such an excellent electro pop sensibility and these Markus Krieger remixes do the track justice and make it something just down right good with a grooving, electro club house feel, that would be perfect for those more commercial floors.
10 Boy 8-Bit - Ghost House (Suspense Is Killing Me Pt II) - Mad Decent MP3, I just couldn't pass up including this killer track even tough its release to vinyl is not available till next week, breakbeat is infectious and catchy without the hook or rhythm, but once those elements come into play this track gains everything it needs to be a complete listening pleasure, changes the line and adds interest in fun funky ways, as it moves along, simply amazing sampling and synth work from the original with high end noises, 8-bit is poised to take the world by storm.
