Well its been a while since I blogged. Things at work are pretty hectic and since I do my blogging at work I haven’t had the time. It’s our fiscal year end this month and I’ve been working my little typing fingers to the bone, so many work orders, I’ll be really glad tomorrow that November is over with and hopefully they will find my replacement so I can finally move into my new position and start making decent money.
Home is pretty good lately, C is working a day shift all month so we’ve been having a lot of time together, which is really nice, it’s like I asked for more time with him and I got it, Thinking Mans Babe, you’re right, LOA works.
I got my hair cut much shorter, just above shoulder length; it looks good, much healthier. I’ve been told bangs make me look younger and I’ve also been told it looks more mature, ha ha. Here is a pic of the cut I showed the stylist it’s pretty similar.
A is getting stoked for the old holiday season, we are getting him an electric guitar for xmas, and my parents are paying for the lessons. It’s just been hard to find someone teaching guitar in our area, the only places that offer lessons are in different areas or are just way too damn expensive; $20/half hour is kinda steep even for my folks. I’m not putting up a tree, I don’t believe in that crap but I’m getting slack from everyone who says I’m depriving A of the experience of xmas, I think that’s idiotic and I don’t think its doing him an ounce of harm us not buying into all that consumerism/Christian bull-dung. I don’t like the music, I don’t like shopping and I don’t like the bible so I’m not going to do something that is against what I personally believe to coddle my 9 year old and give him the same sense of delusion the rest of the country is suffering from. Call me a grinch or a humbug or whatever I just don’t like xmas or really anything that goes along with it.
On that note, Saturday is our holiday staff party. It’s at a fancy restaurant; we will be able to drink for free too. I’m having a big juicy steak for supper, MmmmmMmmmm steak. I haven’t been to an “actual staff party” with this office; last year was just a potluck kind of thing where we all ate here at the office. We all got gift cards for a mall last year. One of my co-workers said they got jewelry for a gift a few years back, I hope we get gift cards again, I hate jewelry I’m not that kind of girl I’d rather have $30 to spend on music or gifts for my family.
Tonight we’re going out to the bar for a couple friends’ birthdays. Should be a messy but fun time, we’re pre-gaming it at our place; I have a couple of bottles of my dad’s homemade white wine chilling. Neither of us have got really ripped in a while so I’m looking to get loose and get our dance on, the bar is uber close to our place so cab fare won’t be too pricy. Unfortunately my knees have been hurting for the past couple days, feeling a little better today, I think I over did it with the squats and lunges the other day. I’ll just have to be careful when dancing and I will wear my trainers to dance in. I’m excited though we will be seeing a lot of people we’ve lost touch with on some level due to life being to damn busy/expensive to go out to all the events and functions we are constantly invited too, ah to be 32 and freer, I can’t wait.
We’ll that’s about it for now. Hope everyone who reads this has a great weekend! Cheers!
