I was watching some youtube videos on my lunch today, there are a couple I found really wild/odd/facinating. I think I am a human sociology scientist, I'm that crazy about analyzing people, not judging them just trying to figure out wtf is going on with us crazy humans. I'm gonna attempt to link em here first time lets see how it goes;)

Oi I've been delinquent about posting to my blog here, I find it super easy to browse for hours on the net for info or even just "brain candy" but to get myself in here to blog about things, well its not easy for me to say the least. I am making a resolution to myself to try to blog just a little bit every day, just some thoughts about what is going on in my life and whatnot.
I had my consultation appointment about my extraction of 9 teeth, 7 upper and 2 lower so have my oral surgery booked for April 7th so I will be off work for two days that week, I will need the time to recover properly then I get to go out on the 10th for the monthly Crown Productions event called Weird Science Hugo who will be playing live:) super stoked to be able to go out after recouping from my surgery, it will be some much needed fun.
It's snowed here again, crazy amounts of snow. I was out in the wind and snow waiting for a buss and was cursing at the weather, as I had to wait FOREVER for the buses which were running nearly an hour behind, I must have looked nuts screaming at the wind but it upset me that we are back in the depths of winter, literally, the snow is knee deep and the wind is harsh and cold, I had to tell the universe I was unhappy, I just couldn't accept it, haha even though there is really nothing I could do but yell:p
Today is Friday, I am finally getting my teeth dealt with and I have a job so I can pay for fixing my teeth so those are things I am thankful for:)

Letting Go
Ok so I just wanted to share a bit of something here, mainly the fact that humans are insane, yep you heard me right, myself included. The vast majority of people are so wound up in their own plight and selfishness, their egos if you will, they can't realize they are harmful to themselves, other people and the planet. They can't come to this realization mainly because their opinions/thoughts/feelings are what they perceive to be who they are, and when your opinion is you, you can't and don't want to see other sides of things or even see it realistically, which is to say without your own interests in mind, because the ego sees this as a threat.
I know what your thinking, why should you right, well here's the thing, humanity is in a deep rut of selfishness and egoic thinking/feeling and its causing a horrid me against the world approach in which unless we personally identify with something, we perceive it to be against us. This in turn makes the world out to be this nasty place that causes us fear, insufficiency and lack. When you are in a constant state of satisfying the ego's needs you are constantly defending it's survival and in that action you are giving out terrible closed energies, negative vibrations on all levels.
Now its very very hard for people to be awake to what the ego is doing, the ego is sneaky, as soon as it feels threatened it becomes defensive and will lash out or pity itself, so that is why it is very hard to say to someone who is strongly possessed by their ego that this is what is going on. When you let go of feeling you have to be right, let go of feeling you have to have what you want, let go of thinking that someone/something else is causing your problems, you are open and receptive and the ego no longer has control over you.

Genesis NYE Dec 31 2008 Panteges Playhouse Theatre

Here is a pic of me spinning at Genesis on the main stage. It was a blast. I love playing records for people, seeing them smile and groove is such a fantastic feeling. I really want to get into producing so I can make a career out of making people dance, it's a dream and a goal I want to bring to fruition very much. I believe dancing is good for your soul, your mind and your body. I had such a good time at the party, dancing, blabbing to strangers and just generally feeling good and positive. I really enjoyed the sets from Disco Kitty, Deko-ze, Marco G, Smooths and of course Frankie Bones. I think he had a good time playing for the Winnipeg crowd, they were havin' it, that's for sure. I'm sure Crown pulled some decent numbers for the turn out even though the night was snowy and cold, it was warm and inviting in the party. Everyone seemed to be out in true New Years spirit.
I've been trying to focus on the positive in life a lot more recently and having Crown choose me to play made me so much more positive. I've been really relaxed and easy going lately. Trying very hard not to get emotionally worked up about things. It's helping me feel a better inner sense of joy than that is derived from what is on the surface of immediate emotions and thoughts. I've been reading the book the Power of Now - Eckart Tolle and it is really opening my eyes, even more so than his other book A New Earth, both are fantastic and I think everyone who is looking deeper should read them. Even if you don't follow his ideology you will take something away from it be it common sense about human interactions or many of the other insightful observations and instruction he provides. I will be picking up his third book when I finish this one.
I've been having wonderful thoughts about where I want to be taking the direction of my life, making music, touring, making people dance. Creating more art. I also get to go to a wonderful party in July on Victoria Island BC here in Canada called Soundwave, I urge everyone to go, as I've heard it's a fantastic 3 day outdoor electronica/dance event, that is unmatched in vibe and caliber of artists. I am extremely happy to have the chance to see that part of the country as well as it is some of the most beautiful in the country. Here is a link for the festival, it should be updated for this year's event soon: http://soundwavemusicfestival.ca/
I'm so stoked to go, its a gift from my mom to send me there for my 30th Birthday, I think she is effected by the fact that her oldest child is 30 this year. She is super proud of what I have done with my DJing, she is very supportive and I love her for that.
Hope you all had wonderful New Years and fantastic holidays! Here's to living in the moment and making the very best of it.
